About the ship

Santa Cruz II is a Metropolitan Touring expedition ship for the Galápagos, built in Chile in 2002 as Mare Australis for Patagonian cruising and relaunched under its current name in 2015. It carries 90 guests in 50 cabins, 36 of which can interconnect, with an all-Ecuadorian crew of 50, and was last renovated in 2021. Onboard are two restaurants, two lounge bars, hot tubs, a library and a fitness center, with kayaks and pangas for landings and snorkeling, and Tauck uses it on its Galápagos tours.
