Summary
Above: Scroll through our photo photo gallery to give you a flavor of the experiences your most avid fans would have during a branded sports theme cruise.
Below: We'll give you an overview of charter options and business considerations.
Cruise lines
We’ve been in discussions with Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line. We’ll work with you to decide which cruise line and ship is the best fit for your organization.
- Royal Caribbean is the choice of many sports fan cruises, given their impressive fleet and top-notch reputation.
- Celebrity Cruises is another great choice for Caribbean sailings, with a more upscale vibe.
- Norwegian is another good option with plenty of good options your team's fans would enjoy.
Sailing dates
- Early 2027 cruises: Royal Caribbean usually requires an 18- to 24-month lead time.
Fan experiences
Fans who take sports-themed charters often say it's one of the best experiences of their lives. Many activites on board are handled by us or a coordinating host — we'll do the bulk of the arrangements in consultation with your representatives.
Activities often include:
- Football-themed deck parties that will include food and drink specials, games, prizes, a DJ, dancing and more
- On-board events where fans can mingle with the athletes through cocktail parties, group photos, specified autograph signings, Q&A sessions, etc.
- On game day, games are displayed on outdoor movie screens, at the sports bar and on cabin TVs. (Other options are available if this falls outside of the football season.)
- Typical cruise activies such as talent shows, karaoke, FlowRider surf simulator, rock climbing wall, basketball, sports competitions, ice-skating rink, cantilevered whirlpools, shopping, mini golf course, skydiving simulator at sea and much more.
Who participates
On an NFL fan cruise, you decide who to invite. Passengers typically include:
- Current players and their families
- Team legends and alumni
- Coaches, staff and executives
- Team personalities, cheer squad personnel, mascot, broadcast announcers
- And true-blue fans!
Destinations
Popular destinations for fan charters include the Bahamas, Mexico, Coco Cay, U.S. Virgin Islands, Barbados, Cayman Islands and Turks and Caicos, with ships sailing out of Florida ports. Other choices include Bermuda itineraries out of Cape Liberty, NJ, and Mexican Riviera cruises out of Los Angeles.
Business considerations
Benefits to your organization include: greater fan loyalty and deeper affinity, organic word of mouth on social media, great publicity in local media outlets,
It’s important to understand that any fan cruise we undertake must involve a close collaboration between our organizations. The cruise lines do not promote fan cruises, leaving it up to us to fill the ship. The cruise lines lock in a financial commitment up front. So it’s vitally important that we be able to work with you to send out offers to season ticket holders so that we sell out the charter. We want the sailing to be successful and memorable for all involved.
We have worked with Fortune 500 companies are are extremely mindful of our partner organizations' branding requirements (eg, what to name the cruise) and the proper chain of authority — so that you're kept in the loop while we bear the brunt of the work involved.
An alternative to a charter is a group cruise where we book a block of rooms but not the entire ship. However, with a group we have no control over activities and events on board.
Cause-related considerations
Sometimes the organizers of a fan cruise partner with a local or national nonprofit or social good organization and a portion of the revenues goes to charity.
