Activities on board

Cue the thrills with unforgettable experiences on board, soak up the sun at a newly designed resort-style pool deck, take a dance class, hit the rock-climbing wall or head to the new SeaPlex, the largest indoor-outdoor activity center at sea. (Parents can even chill at the Playmakers sports bar there while their kids can play nearby.) At night, you can take in a show, relax at the Bionic Bar, the Pub or the Lime and the Coconut, or experience a multimedia spectacular at the all-new Music Hall.

Other options include a full sports court, lasertag, NorthStar observation capsule and the SkyPad bungee trampoline VR experience. Additional lounges and bars include Schooner Bar, Boleros Solarium Bar, Playmakers Bar & Arcade and the Suite Lounge.

Supervised activities for kids include Hideout Hangout (for teens) and Adventure Ocean for younger children.   

Dining

You'll find a mix of new dining venues and longtime favorites on Odyssey of the Seas. In addition to the Main Dining Room and Windjammer buffet, restaurants include:

Chop's Grille: The signature steakhouse is included on Odyssey.

El Loco Fresh: Take in the action on the pool deck while munching on tacos, burritos, quesadillas and fresh salsas.

Giovanni's: Royal Caribbean is debuting its new take on this authentic Italian trattoria, featuring hand-tossed pizzas fresh out of the oven, wines from many of Italy’s well-known regions and more. 

Teppanyaki: This hibachi-style Japanese eatery is making its Royal Caribbean North American debut with Odyssey.

Izumi: The cruise line's signature sushi and sashimi dining venue is another Asian dining option.

Wonderland: A fairytale-like menu of adventurous dishes is feaured in an Alice in Wonderland-inspired setting.

Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade: Head to the SeaPlex for an assorment of pub grub (chicken wings, burgers, sliders, fries) and beers.

You can also grab a bite at Solarium Bistro Restaurant, The Cafe at Two70, Coastal Kitchen, Sorrento’s Pizza and Starbucks.

Staterooms

The ship boasts a total of 2,105 staterooms and suites. Ocean View Staterooms sleep up to four guests with 182 square feet of space. You can also choose Balcony Stateroms, Virtual Balcony Staterooms and Interior Staterooms.

Suites range in size from a Spa Junior Suite to two-bedroom Ultimate Family Suite, which sleeps eight. A Junior Suite is 267 square feet in size and include 81 square feet of balcony space. A Grand Suite includes a 350-square-foot stateroom, larger balcony and perks such as Lavazza Espresso Coffee Machine, free tours, priority booking for dining and reserved sections in the theaters. Every stateroom has bright, modern touches.

Quantum Ultra class features

If you're a repeat passenger of Royal sailings, you'll recognize a few things that are different on Quantum Ultra class ships:

• There's one large main dining room instead of four small dining rooms.
• The ships have a smaller fitness and spa area.
• The Solarium space is enhanced. 
• You'll find new dining and drinking/entertainment venues.
• You'll also find expanded outdoor space.

COVID considerations

With COVID-19 a fact of life for the near future, the cruise line has implemented the following policies on board the ship:

• Passengers not required to wear masks in their staterooms, outdoors or indoors while seated and actively eating or drinking
• Vaccinated guests have exclusive access to certain venues and activities in which they don't need to wear a mask
• Children under age 2 don't need to wear a mask
• Unvaccinated guests are provided specific hours to use some facilities like the fitness center; other venues, like the Solarium Pool and Bar, will be unavailable to unvaccinated guests throughout the cruise.
• Wristbands identify vaccinated passengers. Unvaccinated passengers have hole punched in their SeaPass cards.
• Buffet food is served by crew members.
• Vaccinated guests may explore independently in most ports of call.
• Unvaccinated guests are limited to controlled tours in ports other than Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Sister ships

Odyssey of the Seas is a bit smaller than sister ship Spectrum of the Seas, which operates out of East Asia. That said, it's still a megaship — at launch Odyssey became one of the largest cruise ships in the world, right behind Norwegian Encore. Odyssey's cousins in the Royal Caribbean family remain the largest cruise ships in the world.
