Our review
Silver Ray: Head-turning ship takes luxury cruising to new heights
Silver Ray, the second Nova class ship from luxury line Silversea, debuted in summer 2024 and offers sailings to some of the most desirable seaside cities in the Mediterranean and beyond.
Silver Ray mirrors the innovations introduced on its sister ship, the head-turning Silver Nova, including a pioneering, asymmetrical design and extraordinary use of glass in both public areas and in suite for uninterrupted views. Silver Ray is one of the most spacious ships ever built, offering an exceptionally high space-to-guest ratio.
Like its sibling, every stateroom is a suite and every suite has a balcony. Ray is a green ship — the new Evolution class is leading a new generation of Silversea ships into sustainable cruising, respecting the fragile ecosystems of the remote and remarkable destinations it calls on.
The ship's interior is designed with an emphasis on elegance and luxury, with public spaces oriented toward the sea or the destination, providing an immersive experience that differs from traditional luxury ships. And the hallmarks of a Silversea sailing — high level of service and fine dining — will be a centerpiece of Silver Ray.
Where Silver Ray sails
The ship offers a wide variety of exquisite sailings — with itineraries ranging from 11 to 71 nights — mostly around the Mediterranean but also in the Caribbean and South America.
Ports on tap include Funchal, Cadiz, Casablanca, Costa del Sol, Mallorca, Bordeaux, Venice, Santorini, Kotor, Dubrovnik, Istanbul, Monte Carlo, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Lima (Callao), Grand Turk, San Juan, Curacao, Bonaire and more.

Inclusions
Silver Ray's fares include shipboard gratuities, all beverages — including wines and champagne — butlers in all suites and special amenities such as free Wi-Fi and more.
Highlights
Highlights aboard Silver Ray include the following:
The Marquee affords commanding views of the sea from the ship's port side. It's an al fresco dining venue that hosts The Grill aka Hot Rocks (try a self-prepared “hot rock” steak for dinner) and Spaccanapoli, an Italian pizzeria open for lunch and dinner.
Otium Spa is the go-to place for beauty and wellness treatments. The spa offers a series of treatment rooms, changing areas, steam rooms, dry saunas and a therapy pool overlooking the ocean, along with a beauty salon and a fitness center. The Otium concept is not confined to the spa — it also applies to in-suite sleeping, bathing, comfort food and balcony experiences.
The Dusk Bar is an open-air sky bar at the back of the ship positioned on the port side.
The Observation Lounge at the forward of the ship is a great place to strike up conversations with fellow guests and watch the passing seascapes.

Silver Ray offers a range of fine dining experiences:

Staterooms
All Silver Ray cabins are suites and all guests are assigned butlers who can arrange reservations, help to pack or unpack, pour bubbly and more. Guests can choose one of these luxurious suites:
Otium Suite: Features a wraparound balcony, living and dining areas, a private hot tub, and premium amenities over 1,325 square feet.
Owner Suite: Includes a large terrace, convertible sofabed, and fine furnishings in spaces ranging from 1,055 to 1,410 sq. ft.

Signature Suite: Comes with premium patio furniture and a range of luxury fittings in 700 sq. ft. of space.
Silver Suite: Features a separate dining area, whirlpool bathtub and the option for two bedrooms in 680 to 1,035 sq. ft.
Junior Grand Suite: Offers a bow-facing view and a still-generous 580 to 980 sq. ft. of space.
Medallion Suite: Includes a living room, separate dining area and 530 sq. ft. of space with an 85-square-foot balcony.
Veranda Suite: Provides a step-out balcony and comfortable amenities in a 355-square-foot area, with some adapted for those with disabilities.
Dress code
Silversea has set down dress code guidelines for guests that it calls “elegant casual.” For men, a nice shirt (not a T-shirt) is recommended, though jackets aren’t required at dinner (except if you're dining at La Dame). For women, the guidelines call for “trousers, blouses, skirts or casual dresses.” Cruises longer than seven nights have at least one “formal optional” evening, where men can wear a dark suit with tie, dinner jacket or tuxedo and women can choose an evening or cocktail dress.
Fun facts
Silver Ray is the industry's second hybrid cruise vessel (following Silver Nova) with zero emissions at port. The ship operates on a hybrid LNG and marine gas oil dual-fuel system, supplemented by a large bank of batteries for additional power when needed. The ship is also entirely self-sufficient in collecting and treating water, underlining its commitment to sustainability.
